What Does a Chiropractor Do?

Chiropractors make spinal adjustments in order to correct vertebral misalignments and reduce interference with the nerve system. The misalignments are referred to as sublaxations.

There are any number of reasons why you should see a Chiropractor but some common recommendations are after a fall or accident, a sports injury (specifically a large jolt), bad posture, neck or back pain, headaches, and joint pain.

There also a number of different methods employed by chiropractors but their overall goal is the same. (Details for each method are outside the realms of this article).

Chiropractic care is a growing profession with more and more people now realizing the benefits (both direct and holistic) of maintaining a correctly aligned spine and nervous system.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

The most direct benefit is in the realignment of the vertebrae which might be causing pain or restricted movement. Common ailments that are treated by chiropractors are: lower back pain, neck pain and is some cases it can reduce the occurrence of migraines.

There is still some conjecture over it’s more broad reaching benefits. The theory being that vertebral misalignment affects the nerves that run up and down the spine and this in turn effects the performance of the bodies organs. Your nervous system is an important part as it connects with your organs and the cells within your body.
